It was with sadness in the surfing community, that the notification of the passing of a legendary man in the surfing world, who passed away on the 22nd of September
Mike “Bones” Bright, death was first widely reported on, Bing Copeland’s page, “Classic Bing Surfboards” they had been friends going back to their school days, surfed together , California Hawaii, Mexico, worked side by side back in the fledgling days of the surfboard industry.
A champion paddle board racer, member of the U.S. Lifeguard Team to OZ 1956. Member of the U.S. beach volleyball team, Olympian. Coach to the U.S. women’s volleyball team
Six foot four inches tall, whipcord lean, quiet, modest, with a strong work ethic.
The news of his passing brought out a slew of historic photos.
